Bramley Elderly Action (BEA) is a local Neighbourhood Network Scheme providing low-level preventative support for people aged 60 and over who are able to live independently.

At BEA, we are dedicated to helping people aged 60 and over live happy, healthy, and connected lives. Through a variety of services, activities, and opportunities shaped by our members, we support health and wellbeing, encourage independence, and create meaningful social connections. Our goal is to reduce loneliness and isolation, foster a sense of belonging, and help older people remain active and engaged in the communities they call home.

We are not a care provider and do not offer personal care, domiciliary care, medication support, or ongoing one-to-one support with daily living activities. Our services are designed to complement, not replace, health and social care services by promoting wellbeing, reducing loneliness and social isolation, and helping older people stay active and connected within their local community.

We offer a wide range of member-led activities, social opportunities, information, advice, and practical support to encourage independence and improve quality of life. Our aim is to help older people maintain their wellbeing, build friendships, improve confidence, health and wellbeing.

Who can be referred?
Our service is suitable for people aged 60 and over who are living independently in Bramley with a LS13 postcode, and would benefit from social connection, community activities, or low-level support to maintain their health and wellbeing.

Who may not be suitable for our service?
People may not be suitable for people who require personal care, such as assistance with washing, toilet assistance, dressing, or medication management, or who have significant mental health needs or other complex support requirements that affect their ability to live independently.

Individuals who require ongoing or intensive support with everyday living may be better supported by adult social care services or regulated care providers. Where appropriate, we encourage referrers and self-referrers to explore these services to ensure the individual receives the level of support they need.
